Project Assistant, Group of Fifty (Full time, regular)
The Group of Fifty (G-50) is a non-profit, apolitical initiative composed of a select group of business leaders who head the most successful and modern enterprises in the Americas and is sponsored by the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace. Convening since 1994, the group has become a leading forum for exchanging ideas and experiences in response to the political, economic, and social trends affecting Latin America and the world.
The Project Assistant provides overall operational support to the Executive Director and Board of Directors. He/She serves as the principal administrative, clerical, and project support assistant for the G-50; oversees the organization of G-50 events including the annual meeting, board of director's meeting, and other international conferences; organizes outreach materials and programs (in Spanish and English); arranging for facilities, catering and other logistical services; conducts new member research and recruitment; maintains telephone and e-mail communication with members' offices; drafts correspondence for the Executive Director and Chairman; and performs other duties as assigned.
Ideal candidate must be eligible to work in the United States; have 2-3 years’ related work experience; fluency in Spanish and English is essential (Portuguese a plus); sound judgment, demonstrated initiative and problem-solving skills; keen attention to detail and ability to work under pressure; in addition to strong communication and computer skills. Events management and experience living and/or working in Latin America are a plus. Undergraduate degree strongly preferred.
